UFC Fight Night returns to Abu Dhabi on 25 July, with a light heavyweight main event pitting No. 1 ranked Magomed Ankalaev against No. 5 ranked Khalil Rountree Jr. at Etihad Arena on Yas Island. The event is produced in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.

Ankalaev (21-2-1) steps back into the Octagon for the first time since losing the light heavyweight title to Alex Pereira at UFC 320 last October – a defeat that ended a seven-year unbeaten run inside the cage. The 33-year-old from Makhachkala, Dagestan, had claimed the belt from Pereira at UFC 313, following wins over Anthony Smith, Johnny Walker, and Aleksandar Rakic on his road to the championship. A decisive result in Abu Dhabi would put him in position for an immediate rematch.

Rountree Jr. (15-7, 1NC) arrives as the underdog, but with legitimate momentum. Fighting out of Las Vegas, the 36-year-old most recently defeated former light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill by unanimous decision in Baku last June, his second consecutive main event appearance. A win over Ankalaev would place him firmly back in title contention.
In the co-main event, No. 2 ranked bantamweight Umar Nurmagomedov (20-1) faces No. 9-ranked David Martinez (14-1) in a divisional bout that carries significant ranking implications. Nurmagomedov has gone back-to-back with unanimous decision wins over Mario Bautista and Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 324 since dropping his title bout to Merab Dvalishvili, whilst Martinez has posted a 3-0 run against established opposition.
The full card also features a heavyweight clash between Gokhan Saricam (12-2) and Louie Sutherland (11-5), both coming off their first UFC victories. Dubai-based Magomed Tuchalov (6-0) makes his UFC debut in a light heavyweight bout against Brendson Ribeiro, while No. 10 ranked flyweight Steve Erceg (14-4) takes on Ramazan Temirov (19-3) of Uzbekistan.

Additional matchups include No. 8 ranked heavyweight Rizvan Kuniev meeting No. 10 Tyrell Fortune; Uran Satybaldiev facing UFC veteran Dustin Jacoby at light heavyweight; No. 13 ranked Valter Walker taking on Thomas Petersen in a heavyweight contest; Ismael Bonfim meeting Axel Sola at lightweight; and welterweight Islam Dulatov squaring off against Wellington Turman.
