Qatar Airways has parked an entire digital city inside Fortnite, and it’s called “QVerse Island”.
In its first-ever digital destination, Qatar Airways reimagines the capital of Qatar, Doha, by offering travellers an immersive way to explore the city while engaging with the airline’s brand experience inside “QVerse Island.”
The game opens exactly where any Qatar Airways journey would, at Hamad International Airport. But instead of queuing at a check-in desk, players touch down into a fully realized digital recreation of the space, greeted by none other than Sama, Qatar Airways’ AI-powered digital cabin crew member. Warm, intuitive and ever-present, Sama serves as the player’s guide throughout the entire experience, a fitting nod to the airline’s reputation for world-class hospitality, now translated into the virtual realm.
Once on the island, players will take on fun-packed, mission-based challenges guided by Sama, weaving through recreations of Doha’s most iconic landmarks and cultural attractions, from its glittering waterfront to its storied museums. It’s a concept that taps into a growing appetite for immersive digital worlds, one that major gaming platforms are leaning into heavily. Fortnite’s upcoming Chapter 7 Season 2, for instance, is set to introduce multiple new movement items and traversal mechanics, reflecting how modern games are prioritising dynamic, exploration-driven experiences.
Similarly, the season will feature a new match-starting sequence designed to drop players into the world in a more cinematic, engaging way, a mechanic not unlike Qatar Airways’ choice to begin QVerse at the airport gates.
Here’s where things get really interesting. Tucked into the island’s hidden corners are golden tickets, and they’re not just for show. Finding one unlocks the chance to win real travel rewards and flights with Qatar Airways.

An on-screen alert announces that a golden ticket has spawned somewhere on the island, and players have only a few minutes to race to its random location before it disappears. In an era where even the biggest names in gaming are doubling down on surprise, reward-based gameplay, Qatar Airways appears to have taken note, blending the thrill of the hunt with the very real promise of a seat on a flight.
