If you thought hailing a ride was already lowkey revolutionary, wait until you’re booking a flight from your phone. Joby Aviation and Uber have officially linked up to launch Uber Air powered by Joby — and yeah, it’s exactly as wild as it sounds.

The collab lets riders book Joby’s all-electric air taxi directly through the Uber app with a single tap. Enter your destination, and if your trip qualifies, Uber Air pops up as an option — complete with an Uber Black pickup and drop-off on either end. Seamless doesn’t even cover it.

Joby expects to carry its first passengers in Dubai later this year, with eyes already on New York, Los Angeles, the UK, and Japan down the line. The aircraft itself? Six tilting propellers, speeds up to 200 mph, a 100-mile range on a single charge, and panoramic windows so the views hit different at altitude.

Uber’s Chief Product Officer Sachin Kansal put it plainly: “Riders will be able to book Joby’s electric air taxi through a simple and familiar, one-tap experience on Uber, seamlessly connecting every leg of their journey — making ground-to-sky travel even more effortless.”

This isn’t a concept anymore. The era of urban air mobility is officially wheels up.

Stay ready.
