What began as a passion project driven by curiosity has become one of the Arab world’s most recognizable educational shows. Ahmed El Ghandour, the creator behind El Daheeh, built the programme not only on comedic timing, but on a relentless pursuit of knowledge and an exploration of the hidden history behind the everyday things we take for granted.
In 2017, El Ghandour launched El Daheeh as a series of simple, home-produced explainer videos covering topics ranging from pop science to history and economics. Informative yet delivered with a playful, witty tone, the videos quickly gained a massive following.
What started as a solo YouTube project soon expanded. The show later found homes on AJ+, Shahid, and most recently New Media Academy, producing seven seasons and becoming one of the region’s most-watched explainer series.

Beyond the screen, El Ghandour has also made waves in print, most recently in conversation with pioneering cardiac surgeon Sir Magdi Yacoub at The Cairo Celebration Church, marking the release of the paperback edition of Yacoub’s authorized biography. The event brought together two of the Arab world’s most respected public figures in a rare and intimate exchange.
On February 7, El Ghandour announced the end of his five-year partnership with New Media. But the announcement did not signal the end of El Daheeh. Instead, reflecting the idea that knowledge is fluid and ever-evolving, the show is entering a new chapter and on multiple fronts. El Ghandour recently unveiled The Last Da7ee7 on Earth on Spacetoon, marking the show’s entry into children’s and family programming and broadening its reach to an entirely new generation of curious minds.
He was also invited to speak at the 1Billion Summit, a platform dedicated to shaping the future of education and human development, further cementing his status as one of the Arab world’s leading voices on knowledge and learning.

El Daheeh has also proven its pull beyond the digital world with a tour across the Arab World, taking the show’s signature blend of humor and education directly to live audiences region-wide, laying the groundwork for what comes next.
This spring, El Daheeh will step beyond the screen and onto the stage, launching a U.S. tour across five states — Detroit, New York City, Cleveland, Chicago, and Houston — beginning in April. The live tour marks a new way for El Ghandour to share his signature mix of storytelling, humor, and education with audiences in person. Tickets are now available through Eveenty.
