It’s official. Lady Gaga is releasing an original song titled ‘Runway’ with Doechii for The Devil Wears Prada 2. Speculation of Gaga’s cameo appearance in the sequel film was confirmed in October (per Variety), but it wasn’t until April 6 that fans learned the ‘Judas’ singer will be releasing a song for the movie as well.
The final trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 dropped on April 6, with a tease of Gaga and Doechii’s upbeat song playing in the background. The latest trailer shows Miranda Priestly navigating scandal and declining readership at Runway magazine as her team fights to maintain its influence in the fashion world.
As for the movie’s soundtrack, Gaga has previously praised her ‘Runway’ collaborator, Doechii, telling British Vogue on July 10, ‘You don’t often see someone come out of the gate with a pen that feels immediately legendary. That’s Doechii to me. I fell in love with her music and her raw, deeply personal perspective’. Gaga continued, adding, ‘The power in her words, her vulnerability, the way she rhymes with this wild mix of audacity and emotional precision… it struck me to the core’.
Fans were quick to celebrate the recent news that the musicians will be teaming up for an original Devil Wears Prada 2 track. On the PopHeads subreddit, commenters couldn’t contain their excitement over the recent update.
